Dr. Parker states, “Remember threat is both intent and capability. They have stated over and over again through Kim Jong Un's rhetoric that he has the intent to harm the U.S. or its people. Now he is starting to get that capability and that is increasing day by day, so that means the threat continues to increase and it's becoming more and more real every day. If it gets to the point where the only action to be taken is for the United States to operate unilaterally, I believe this president will take that action."

North Korea WARNING Nuclear weapons could spread to Iran if Trump can't stop Kim Jong Un- Dr. Parker Interview with David Webb on Fox News.
Dec 28, 2017
Fears of World War 3 grow if President Donald Trump, China, South Korea and Japan do not stop North Korea’s nuclear programme, as Iran could mirror Kim Jong-un’s efforts and develop its own nuclear weapons, said Dr William J. Parker III. “This is a complex environment in the backyard of China, South Korea, Japan. And when you look at those three countries and what they’re dealing with right now, if they do nothing, if we do nothing as a globe and we allow North Korea their nuclear weapons program and advance them to the point that they’re close to right now, what you’re going to end up with is likely a nuclear South Korea, a nuclear Japan, and therefore a concerned China that increases their nuclear capability and their defence capability. But it gets better. It gets better because then Iran sees that North Korea got away with it and you end up with a potential of nuclear weapons in and around the Gulf as well. If that happens you’re going to end up losing control of that fissile material and that’s a very complicated problem.”

Russian And European Perspectives On Korean Unification And Denuclearization
Jun 2, 2020
In a virtual roundtable discussion, Dr. William J. Parker III and Korea experts in Moscow, London, Stockholm, Seoul, New York, and Washington discussed new opportunities for resolving the decades-long challenges of bringing peace, reunification and denuclearization to the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia. In opening remarks, Dr. William J. Parker III credited the efforts of the Global Peace Foundation to bring international focus to unification as a means to resolve the security threat of the divided peninsula. “Your efforts, your comprehensive and strategic vision, quite frankly, is the most thoughtful approach I have seen, and I have been working on this for 25 years. GPF has it right; security, governance and economics are the key three steps. My strong belief that issues like Korea, Venezuela, Syria, and the list goes on, won’t be resolved until a much bigger issue— relations between the U.S. and Russia—are resolved first.”

Seoul Forum Draws Experts For Discussion On Korean Reunification

Dr. William Parker III, President and CEO of the EastWest Institute, said that the first step in securing peace on the peninsula is addressing the issue of human rights. He said that resolving the grave human rights violations in the North will motivate the DPRK to protect its economic interests, stabilizing the region and reducing the incentive to retain a nuclear program. Restated by many forum speakers, many efforts have been made internationally to realize denuclearization, however, little progress has resulted through the narrow focus of the current approach.

Commentary: A United Korea Olympic Team Has Never Improved Relations. This Year Will Be Different.

This article talks about the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea in 2018. Special attention to the Republic of Korea (ROK) and The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) as athletes from South and North Korea march under one flag. This was not the first time that Seoul and Pyongyang have shared the international stage under one standard. Both countries arrived under one cloth in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Games and again in the 2006 Winter Games as part of the wildly unsuccessful Sunshine Policy, which served as a basis for South Korea’s foreign policy toward its neighbors in the North, between 1998 and 2007.
Korea Reunification Offers Best Approach To Resolving North Korea Crisis Say Experts At Washington, DC Forum
Nov 22, 2017
In a two-day forum held in Washington, DC, Dr. William J. Parker III said that the Korean peninsula is "an opportunity for the Korean people to unite, to share the blessings of a democracy and to eliminate all nuclear weapons to serve as an example for the rest of the world to follow."

Warning of the dire consequences of loss of control of fissile material should North Korea's nuclear program continue unchecked, Parker singled out China as particularly vulnerable to consequences of war breaking out on the Korean peninsula, saying the crisis presented China with an opportunity to exercise its options as a great power rather than an insular, closed society. The said forum was convened by the Global Peace Foundation, Action for Korea United, and One Korea Foundation in partnership with the National Unification Advisory Council of the Republic of Korea.
